Sorry it has been so long!

Well, it has been a little while since we last posted but there sure has been a lot going on! About a month ago, Chris and I recieved a phone call from Henderson Hills Baptist Church and they offered me a job as their director of girls ministry. After much prayer, we accepted the position and started packing once again.

It has been an exhausting last few weeks, but so good! We are so blessed and excited to be home. God took care of us so well while we were in San Antonio, and He is continueing to do so here. I am loving the new job, and Chris was able to get a position at Gamestop.

We are getting to spend a lot of time with our family and friends, as well as get a lot of rest during this holiday season. Although I missed my parents very much, we had a great Thanksgiving with Chris's aunt and uncle. We ate delicious food, watched football, and played games. Chris and I definately had a lot to be thankful for!

We are now getting settled in and busily getting ready for Christmas! My family will be coming into town so we are so excited!!

Thank you for all your prayers and support! We are excited to be back home and humbled by a God who allowed us to do so!

Relaxing Friday

Today was a day of relaxation! After a very busy and eventful week Chris and I were ready to rest! We slept in really late and laid around the house most of the day. I burnt some cinnamon rolls (yes.... it is possible...) and then we watched "The Incredibles" while we finished some laundry.
When the movie was over, we decided it was time to venture out into the daylight and see what we could discover in San Antonio. We remembered that we had some coupons to a Dave and Busters so we found it and ate a late lunch and played some video games. It was a blast! We played a lot of "virtual reality" type games, including a bowling game that exhausted us! (I won, by the way...) Here are some photos....

We then ventured over to the Palladium to watch a movie. When people come visit us, we are definately taking them to this place! It is HUGE! Its a movie theater that has its own restaurant, video game center, ice cream/starbucks place, and sports bar! We went and saw "The Seeker" it was pretty good! Here is a photo of the outside of the theater...
After the movie, we headed home to work on some things around the house (like updating blogs!). On our way up the stairs, we were welcomed by a family of lizards....(but don't worry, they can't get in our apartment...we hope... :) ).

We miss everyone! We hope to see you soon!!

Kindergarton Fun!

On Friday, Chris had his first subsituting job at Castle Hills! He was so excited when he found out what grade he was going to do... Kindergarten! The kids were so cute and ADORED him! I got to go up there during lunch, recess, and naptime. They were adorable and loved hanging out with the "man teacher with a beard". They even made him drawings to go on our fridge! They are beautiful butterflies that they made during "centers".

Once he got off work, we went on a double date with Ted and Kelly. Ted is a freshman in college who Chris has played halo with a lot and Kelly is a high schooler that I am mentoring. We went to Sushi Zushi and got to use the giftcard that the youth staff gave me for my birthday! We chowed down!
Saturday, we were pretty lazy! We slept in, and then went to the Quarry to explore. We were going to go golfing but the weather didn't look that great. We had lunch at Chilis, went to bed bath and beyond, and walked around. When we got home we made dinner and just relaxed!
Today (Sunday), we went to church. It was friends and family day so the first thing Chris and I did was pick up 100 breakfast tacos from Ruthies (amazing, anyone who visits us we are taking there... I know breakfast tacos sound gross but they are amazing!) After church, we ate lunch and started watching a movie but then Chris got called into work. While he was there, I went to Lifetime and sat by the pool and read and wrote letters to students. It was so relaxing! By the time I was done there, it was time for Chris to get off and for both of us to go to bible study! We had a blast with the kids but we are tired! So we are about to go to bed early!
We love and miss everyone! I'm making it a mission to take tons of pictures.. so be on the lookout!

Chocolate Festival

Chris and I just got home from Castle Hill's first annual Chocolate Festival! The night went really well, and I am so relieved to have my first event finished for the girls ministry here. I was so nervous about doing an event at a new place!

There were about 80 moms and daughters there which Brian (my boss) said was amazing for a youth event. We had lots of moms volunteer to help with girls ministry this year and it was so great to get to know more of the adults around here.

Thank you to everyone who was praying! Tonight was the first night in a long time that I felt really comfertable with everyone here and with my new job. I still miss home like crazy, but tonight was really encouraging.

Here are some pics from the night. I didn't get to take many, but Brian took a bunch so I will put those on here too when I get the chance. Chris came and helped as well (he even grabbed the mic a few times!) The girls adore him and think he's hilarious. He had a good time stealing food off of people's plates!

Oklahoma weekend

Well, this past weekend Chris and I decided that we needed a break. So as soon as I got off work Thursday afternoon we piled into our Honda and headed toward Oklahoma. Even though the drive is 7 hours, we really enjoy it because it gives us a chance to talk without distractions. We arrived late that night and stayed with Aunt Kim.

On Friday, after a great night's sleep, we went to breakfast with Kim at Mimis. It was so good! After breakfast, Chris and I went to lunch with Jeff and Sara Wilson. We had a great time talking with them and getting encouraged by them. After lunch, we swung by the church offices and surprised Daryl Reininger, Sarah Wheeler, and Leslie Clark. We hung out most of the afternoon and it was a blast. As we headed back to Chris's house, we swung by Karen and Wallace Mitchell's house to catch up.

That night, we got to go to none other then the Great State Fair of Oklahoma with Daryl,
Evan, Josh and Cherish. We walked around, played some games, and of course... ate like crazy! It was such an encouraging day to get to be with friends and not have to worry about anything for a weekend.

On Saturday, we got to spend the day with Uncle Darryl. We went to breakfast at Panera (oh I miss Panera!) and then met up with Micah, Stephanie, and John Mark for an afternoon of Sushi and playing! We just hung around Micah and Stephanie's house but it was a BLAST. We miss them like crazy.

It was a great weekend! We did not want to leave!

But we are back here now and things are going pretty well! We have rested up and we both went to work today. I am busily preparing for The Chocolate Festival, a girls event I am having this week and Chris is still training at James Avery.

Some of you might not believe that he gets dressed up, so I figured we'd leave you with some proof... We love you!

Sunday Sunday Sunday

Sometimes we get on a day by day basis as far as homesickness goes...
Today wasn't too bad.

We went to church this morning and Chris and I taught the high school class. After going to service, we headed out to one of our favorite places for lunch and introduced Griff to a magical place that we call: Genghis Grill Mongolian Barbeque. It was delicious... I ate so much I got sick...
So once we had full bellies we headed to our apartment for a quick nap before we headed to the grocery store. Tonight we kicked off our high school small groups by having a BYOM (Bring Your Own Meat) party at Griff's house. There were a ton of kids that came and they all brought some interesting things to grill! Chris and I even recieved about 20 pounds of deer meat from one of the adults! (we are good to go!). It was a fun time of hanging out, eating, and talking with the kids about the importance of small groups. We had a blast playing football and ping pong as well. The kids are adoring Chris and having a great time with him. He is blending in nicely!

It was a good night.

We are about to go to bed due to early workouts in the morning. Continue praying that we have more good days then bad, even though we know the homesickness might not ever really go away. We are so thankful for the people here to have really invested time in us. They are gifts from God to help us through.

We love and miss you all! Here are some pictures from the party tonight... some are of Chris and Griff killing a massive spider that we found... I don't think I have ever laughed that hard!

San Antonio Greetings

Well, we can't believe that it has already been almost two months since the wedding. Life has been good for the Wehunt's here in San Antonio. So much has been going on, that we figured we would start a blog in order to keep everyone updated (and yes, Stephanie.. I'll try to actually update it regularly this time... :).

This past month and a half has definately had its ups and downs. San Antonio has been great, but hardships have definately come our way. During the first week, Chris was welcomed to the big city by getting his stereo stolen out of his truck, and then a few days later we heard the news that his father had passed away in Georgia. Along with random battles of homesickness, it was an interesting month.
But through the hardships we were able to see God move in a mighty way. Since Chris wasn't able to get a job right away, we were able to go to his fathers funeral which we don't believe would have happend otherwise. Then, just two days later, he recieved a call saying that he had gotten a job at James Avery. Also, he was able to get to know a bunch of the kids at Castle Hills and got to start building some strong relationships with people here. He even got to speak on a Wednesday night where we saw four students receive Christ.
And through all of it, our relationship with each other has grown stronger every day. We have been able to lean on each other in ways that we never could before, and we must say... married life is good!
Since so much has been going on, I won't bore you with more typing....but here are some pictures from the last month and a half! There are some of our honeymoon, our apartment, and of today when we went to Sea World! In no particular order....hope you enjoy!
